Last Sabbath (yesterday, Saturday), my uncle came to church with us. We didn’t think that he was going to come, but he made it shortly after we did; and we were very happy to see him. He had been down, sick for so long, so yesterday was of the few times that he had made it to church in the last 4+ years.
He said that he enjoyed the service. The sermon was about the prodigal son’s older brother — his judgmental, self-righteous character; how that he was happy at the downfall of his brother; and saw service to his father as slavery, only wanting to reap the benefits. He didn’t serve from a loving heart.
Lord, I don’t want to be like that. I want to be a Christian in my heart. ):
After service, some of the elders, the pastor, and the visitors’ welcomer met with us and prayed. Yes, yesterday was good and left us with much food for thought.
Praise God.
All this besides, I have a lot to do today:
I was put behind on my schoolwork last week, so everything is piled onto this one. I need to submit an essay by midnight tonight and study for two upcoming exams (calculus and programming).
I just need God to help me. Sigh.
In my first post, I said that I’d post here on my blog about times I’m “out with friends.” Lol, as you can probably guess, by seeing how little I post, there’s not much going on. This has instead literally become a place for me to think out loud.
Ciao for now
