Thought #6

It is 5:37 p.m.

Last Sabbath (as you know, Saturday), I went to speak with an elder of the church, as he was giving away some Spirit of Prophecy books and we wanted them.

As I was there, waiting for him to open the boxes and get the books for me, I was talking to him about a sermon that he had preached.

In that sermon the elder basically told us about an experience he had in which he learned that there are people who worship the devil and they’re very serious about their prayer life, meeting at noon and praying for God’s people to fail.

This struck a chord with us.

After hearing those words that day, we began to pray at 12 p.m. everyday, praying for God’s people to succeed, in order to counteract the work of the evil one, by God’s grace.

I told the elder all this last Sabbath while receiving the books, and he was very intrigued — so intrigued that he requested that we share our “testimony” the next Sabbath — in front of the entire church. He said that such words would urge the congregation to see the importance of prayer and how real this spiritual battle is.

I didn’t think that he’d ask such a thing, but who am I to say No?

Yesterday he called us in order to remind us of the arrangement. We felt encouraged and are now extremely desirous for God’s glory to shine through us and to not think about ourselves.

It’s not about us, it’s about God

On another note, school has been going good (I’d say).

I’m taking up a minor in Accounting. I think that the skills taught therein should be useful, especially considering my ultimate career goals.
